We need to get real, the hardest thing in the world, except perhaps to love one's enemies. We need to find a path above or around, betwixt or between. We need to escape the flim-flam, the con games, the false flags, the pseudoscience, the dead or dying certainties, the deeply corrupt and complicit sects, the smarm and the snark, everything that denies our common humanity and common destiny. A true path, an honest path, a royal road that eschews fake kings and false premises. Not a path to the past but to a better future, while cognizant of the past's pitfalls and our fallible natures. We need poets to lead us, and philosophers, singers of songs, tellers of truth. Scientists who see not just data but how it fits the big picture. Business people who value more than money. Politicians, God help them, who have principles and courage, both, and aren't afraid to follow them where they lead. Priests and ministers, imans and rabbis, seekers and sojourners, atheists, agnostics, the confused and the contrary, all who seek the Good truly and humbly in the dust of the Earth and the stars of the sky. All who cherish the fate of our children and grandchildren, the fate of our planet's forests, seas, mountains, valleys, green pastures and overarching atmosphere the fate of the fellow creatures who reside with us here, and the fate of us all, humans all, with our shared dreams, tangled tragic flaws, and deepest desires.
